The Jüdische Kulturbund Project’s Educational Theatre Tour designed for grades 9-12 and adults. The stage performance will be a mulitmedia story of the Kulturbund and selections from the plays, operas and symphonies the Kulturbund performed. A small ensemble of actors will play a variety of roles in a documentary-like setting. The primary objectives of the play are to raise awareness of the events that led to the Holocaust, create understanding from younger audiences, and encourage tolerance in the world around us, all through a poignant, entertaining, and informative piece of theatre. Like the Educational Outreach itself, the goals of the program are to augment young people’s perception of the past, catalyze students to action, share a little-known inspirational story of the past, and to find contemporary mirrors of the Project experience—perhaps within our own families, communities, and selves.
