Traveling Exhibition

The Jüdische Kulturbund Project Traveling Exhibition is a 2,000-square-foot interactive exhibition, comprised of panel displays, artifact cases, and multi-media components to educate the general public about  the history and artistry of the Jüdische Kulturbund and the power of music and the human spirit.

The highlight of the exhibition is a collection of commissioned portraits of former Kulturbund artists that imparts their personal spirit, inspiration, and legacy both visually and through interview excerpts.

Additionally, static panel displays will highlight the history of the Kulturbund, its diverse artists, and the historical and cultural context of their survival. Artifact cases will present the artists’ tools of survival, which may include instruments, music programs, and other memorabilia. Video displays will present interviews, archival photographs, and rare footage, some of which appear in the documentary film. A multimedia kiosk will incorporate the historical and music of the Jüdische Kulturbund as well a interactive games to enhance understanding of the presented material.

Supporting the Project’s Traveling Exhibition will be a companion book as well as educational programming and materials geared towards parents, teachers, and students. The Project will also provide teachers with packaged lesson plans and tools for classroom use.
