North Korean dancer-choreographer Kim Young-soon explained in her story that in 1970, while being interogated, she revealed a state secret–her childhood friend was Kim Young-il’s mistress and the mother of his son, Kim Jong-nam. Knowing that secret led to her arrest and nine years at the Yoduk Political Prison Camp.
On February 13, 2017, Kim Jong-nam, the half-brother of dictator Kim Young-un, was murdered by poison, as reported by the New York Times.
